Darts Rules: The Official Guidelines Followed by most Pro Organisations

Darts is a game that holds much significance as an indoor sport. It is mainly a kind of throwing game where darts are thrown to the dartboard. Mainly two players can play the game. Needless to say the popularity of the game is ever-increasing. However, before playing the game it is necessary to follow some darts rules. Some basic rules are there which are followed by various darts organizations, such as the World Darts Championship, across the world.

Before starting the game the players can enjoy a warm-up session. During this session players are entitled to throw darts. Approximately nine throws are permitted in this session. After that the game begins. As per the darts rules, the length of a dart can be as maximum as 12 inch, while its minimum weight should be 50 g. Besides, the distance between the dartboard and the throw line should be around 7 ft and 9 ¼ inch.

When the game starts each player is entitled to throw three darts. But remember you should not cross the throwing line; your throw won’t be counted in that case. Apart from that a dart should be on the board at least for 5 seconds otherwise it won’t be counted. Furthermore, if your dart sticks to other darts, it won’t be counted too. As per the darts rules; the score depends on the place you are hitting the darts. For example if your dart hits the red inner circle of the board, you will score a whopping 50 points, while your score will be nil if your dart hits outside the outer wire. So start honing up your dart techniques and skills.
