Just as the name suggests they are. Yes, a folding bike can be folded and converted into a compact size which allows the user to carry the bike anywhere with ease. A folding bike includes joints in the frame that allows it to be broken down and folded into a compact size. The user no longer has to leave bicycles on their garage or some other places where carrying the bicycle is not allowed. But with the introduction of folding bikes in the cycling market it becomes easier for the user to fold the bike and carry it to his/her room and even to the work place. Due of its folding characteristics and compact form, folding bikes are costlier compared to other bicycles available in the market. A few examples of folding bikes available in the market are - Dahon Matrix, Atala Folding, Brompton S2L Folding Bike etc.

The Dahon Matrix is a unisex mountain bike which has a 26 inches wheel size and 24 gears. A bicycle fork is a portion of the bicycle that holds the front wheel intact and allows the rider to steer and balance the bicycle. A bicycle fork includes two dropouts that hold the front wheel axle, two blades that join at a fork crown and a steerer to which the handlebars are attached allowing the user to ride the bicycle. Road bikes are also known as racing bicycles which are specially built urban cycles for road cycling. Road bikes have the distinct feature of drop handlebars and multiple gears.
